I started this site to answer the most common question I am asked "What curriculum do you like?"
I like research (really I do) and do it all the time. Research is part of my life because we go through curriculum quickly. Educating my daughter has exposed me to numerous teaching styles, and curriculum. This site is my was of sharing that knowledge. I hope you enjoy it, I welcome (and look forward) to your questions and comments.
About me:
We both love science and math (okay so she only likes math -- but she is really good in it) and writing (guess that is obvious if you read my blog or my book).
She likes biographies and history as well, and I am learning to like them more and more daily (now I don't run and hide under the bed when it is time for history).
We have always homeschooled, when she went to school I would pull her out at lunch time most days. We limited homeschool to science, reading, English and history (okay so I may have just provided the credit card for history ... but I am better now.... I even show up for 'history class' most days.... when she won't let me skip..... but I refuse to take notes no matter how much she insists!... )
We just casually did math, no books for the first few years (she is really good in math so this was not a problem). When I pulled her out (socialization is not all it is cracked up to be) we flew through curriculum .. guess we did more then I thought we did!
In the last year we completed 4-8 curriculum (okay so some 9th grade as well). I am finally giving in and allowing her to graduate middle school (her being accepted at the local community college might be part of my giving in and letting her start 'high school').
We look foward to hearing from you. You can use the mail form below or send an email to homeschoolcomplete@comcast.net
