 Easy Writing 2007

Use Easy Writing for lower/upper elementary or for junior high/high school basic skills; this two-leveled book contains level 1 in the beginner and level 2 at the back for optimal usefulness. Designed to help students write specific sentence structures, the lessons will begin to develop written expression skills such as items in a series, subordinate and participial clauses, relative clauses, semicolon construction and more. Two lessons are generally given for each discreet skill with repetition of instruction to allow for lessons to be spaced farther apart without students forgetting what they've learned. Answers are included; 474 pages, softcover.

Online Writing Programs  

I have found a writing program I like for elementary. I honestly think you can just purchase the book and use it for K-6.  They do have an online writing class for those of you who want some one else to grade your child's work (sometime this is best if your child is sensitive to your criticism)

I am not affiliated with Brave Writer in any way, they have allowed me to pass along their information.  I have and use, the Writer's Jungle from brave writer to add excitement to our writing program, but have not taken their classes, we use WriteAtHome.

Brave Writer has both an online program for elementary, middle school and high school children.  The book a writers jungle is GREAT for all ages.  There are MANY other books on the Brave Writer site that I love.  This is a must visit site.  There is a TON of free information on the Brave Writer site also, and I recommend reading it before buying anything.  I love this program so much I own it!

I honesty believe that an excellent vocabulary, and excellent reading comprehension skills are essential to surviving in the world! 

This workbook has the punch of a text book.  Each level is filled with interesting stories, each day your child will read about a new adventure, job, or experience the main character has.  My daughter loves reading them so much I have caught her 'reading ahead' to see what happens next.

Handwriting

There are some truly amazing handwriting programs out there, and there are the traditional workbooks.  I have taught both traditional and modern printing and I do find modern the easier transition to script.  Handwriting is personal, so I can not tell you what YOU prefer to teach your child.  I have included some work books I like, and some complete programs I think are nice.

Use these together for basic Language Arts Skills.  I find them to cover the basics.

I know there complete Language Arts curriculums out there; however, these are a good choice if you have good Language Arts skills, but want to make sure you cover everything.  These are NOT text books, but are workbooks.
