Physical Development & Fitness Curriculum Skills List | Faith-Based Preschool

Physical education teaches the value of regular exercise and encourages cooperation with others. Activities are provided to promote the development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Play shadow tag.
  • Develop small motor skills: cutting, gluing, zipping, buckling, painting, tracing, writing.
  • Develop eye-hand coordination: hammering.
  • Complete an obstacle course.
  • Develop large motor skills as developmentally appropriate:
    • Jump and balance on one and two feet.
    • Accurately roll a ball and knock over items.
    • Successfully walk through a maze.
    • Build a block tower.
    • Accurately toss bean bags.
    • Play hide and seek.
    • Bounce and catch a ball.
    • Perform locomotive activities: wave, clap, hop, skip, march, turn around, walk heel to toe, run, gallop, tip-toe, etc.
  • Develop small motor skills as developmentally appropriate.
